Notochord

A slender rod that develops from the mesoderm in chordates. Flexible laterally and resists shortening.

Dorsal nerve cord

Above notochord, and hollow along entire length.

Pharngeal slits

Supports feeding and repiratory activities.

A subpharnygeal gland

Involved in filter feeding, an endocrine gland that produces 2 major hormones.

Postanal tail

Posterior elongatiom of body extending beyond the anus.
