Phrases

They are a group of words that acts as an adj, adv, or a noun.


They are unlike clauses, they do not have a subject and verb.

Prepostition

A prep phrase is one type of phrase that shows the relationship between a noun and the rest of te sentance.


Ex. Of, For, From, To, With.

Find prep. Look for who or what.

Adjective Prep.

They modify nouns, pronouns. They are found after noun, adj, adv.

Adverb prep.

They modify verbs, adj,adv. They are found anywhere.

Verbal

Verbal is a phrase containing a verb used as an adj, adv, or noun. Three types participial, gerund, infinitive.

Paricipial phrase is an ing or ed verb used as an adv. You can find before or after the noun or pronoun is modified.

Gerund

an ing verb used as a noun.

Where to find gerunds
