Anti anxiety agents

Antacid

Actions: neutralizes gastric acids



Side effects: constipation, NVD, electrolyte imbalance, CNS depressant, interferes with antibiotics, oral contraceptives



All antacids should be given 1-2 hours after eating and after all medications.

Considerations: check 8 cranial nerve for hearing, check BUN for urinary output and renal. Mice, ears, kidney.


Always culture before give antibiotic


At peak is one hour after dose is given, and trough is lowest point and just before you hang the next dose.
