It needs carbidopa to cross the blood brain barrier. Otherwise Levodopa is wasted in the gut.
What are some side effects of Levodopa?
Nausea, Vomiting, dyskinesia, hypotension, dysrhythmias, psychosis, dark urine, on/off periods of drugs effectiveness.
Who shouldn't take Levodopa?
Those with a history of melanoma.
