TI
Ratio between toxic dose and therapeutic dose,
Larger the number the safer it is.
TI= TD50/ED50
Toxic Dose
TD
Amount that produces a toxic effect in 50% of the population
Therapeutic Dose
ED50
Drug dose that produces a therapeutic effect in 50% of the population.
Therapeutic Margin
Expression of the TI as measure of drug safety.
Smaller the TI the more deadly/toxic the drug is.
