Pathology - how did it start?
Start by infection in throat. For some, bacteria make their way to meninges through blood.

Sign/Symptoms
-Intense headache, fever, stiff neck, and vomiting. *sniff neck is an important sign!*
-For N. meningitidis -> purplish-black skin b/c capillary break
