What does Perception mean?
Hi my name is Sana, and I will be discussing the process of perception and how it can influence communication. Does anyone know what perception means? If not, perception refers to the process whereby we assign meaning to the world around us. We all have different perspectives and this is because we experience reality differently from one another. How we interpret the events in our lives also influences how we communicate with other people. When we communicate with someone who doesn’t share the same perspective, we often run into relational problems where we stop communicating all together. It can be extremely frustrating when we fail to understand one another and I’m sure we’ve all experienced it here in the classroom. However, perspective can also enhance our relationships with other people. By looking through another perspective, were able to see through someone else’s eyes and gain insight about their world. Therefore, if we take the time to understand the process behind perception, we can also communicate more effectively.
