What are the 4 different stages of EKGs for a pt w/ pericarditis?
(only 50% have all 4 stages) |
1. ST elevation w/ concordance, occurs in the 1st 2 days after inflammation starts
2. Return to baseline, flattened T wave, last several days to weeks 3. 2nd-3rd week, T wave inversion 4. Normal EKG, may last up to 3 m |
|
What are 4 differences between pericarditis and acute MI?
|
1. Increase pain w/ inspiration
2. Friction rub on exhalation 3. Sitting up and forward will decrease the pain 4. No depressed ST or pathologic Q waves -New S3 for peri -Fever, malaise (prodrum) -Retrosternal |
