Findings on laparoscopy
high and medial cecal position, elongated tortuous duodenum
Goals of the operation
Division of Ladd's cecal bands, straighten the course of the duodenum, broadening of the small intestine mesentery, incidental appendectomy, placement of small bowel in right lateral gutter, and colon along left lateral gutter

Common associated abnormalities
Intestinal atresia (5-26%), imperforate anus (0-9%), cardiac anomalies (7-13%), duodenal web (1-2%), Meckel's (1-4%), hernia (0-7%), trisomy 21 (3-10%)
Time of presentation
75% present in first month, 15% in first year
Lap vs. open
Lap - earlier time to tolerating diet, earlier hospital dismissal, decreased requirements for intravenous narcotics (almost factor of 10). Longer though.
