6. Weight infant to nearest 0.01 kg or 1/2 oz

5. Have parent stand on scale without child, record results


6. Have parent hold child, and Weigh parent and infant/or toddler together to nearest to nearest 0.01 kg or 1/2 oz and record results


Subtract weight of the parent from weight of the parent with child.

Measuring head circumference in infants and toddlers (0-36 months)

1. Review last measurements


2. Wash hands and prepare proper equipment


3. Greet and identify the patient. Introduce yourself and explain the procedure.


4. Remove hair accessories


5. Position the tape just above the eyebrows, above the ears, and around the biggest part on the back of the head.


6. Pull tape snugly to compress the hair.


7. Read the measurement to the nearest 0.1 cm or 1/8 inch
