No, pain should be addressed and managed especially in the first 24 hours of infection if possible

|
Tylenol, motrin and benzocaine

When is there an option to treat an ear infection with just observation?
|
yes, for patients 6 months to 2 years with a nonsevere illness, and for equal to and older than 2 years, as long as there is follow up

What abx should be first prescribed without knowledge of an allergy for otitis media? What is the dose per KG?
|
Amoxicillin, 80-90mg/kg usually split into two doses; so if a child weighs 100kg, they need a total of 800mg, and if 400/5ml(1tspn) then the child would get 1 tspn twice/day

What is 2nd line for otitis media treatment?
|
Augmentin

How long should you wait to reassess a patient if otitis media does not improve with treatment?

48-72 hours

What is the clinical presentation of benign paroxysmal vertigo?
