Ischemic necrosis downstream from an arterial thrombus. Can occur in any blood vessel and affect the nearby organ.
pancytopenia
decreased numbers of formed elements (RBC,WBC, platelets)
thrombocytopenia
decreased number of platelets, causing risk for bleeding problems
polycythemia vera
malignant condition with abnormal bone marrow, causing overprodcution of RBC's
