A person, place, thing, or idea.

PREPOSITION
A word that relates one word to another part of the sentence, and puts things in position. Must have an object following it.

Eg. - in, for, with, by, at
CONJUNCTION
A word that joins words, phrases and clauses.

Eg. and, but, while, because
INTERJECTION
A word that shows strong or sudden feeling.

Eg. Wow!, Aha!, Oh!
PRONOUN
A word that replaces a noun.

Eg. - it, she, something

A word that describes a noun or pronoun.

Eg. - easy, pretty, tall

A word used to specify which one. There are only three.

VERB

A word that describes a verb, an adjective or another adverb. Answers the questions How?, When?, Where? and Why?; Often ends in -ly.
