Signs and symptoms of lice |
Severe pruritus secondary bacterial infection of the explorations is a risk. Classroom epidemics of head lice are common. Body lice means inadequate hygiene or in those with crowded living conditions. Pubic lice or crabs look crab like Anticoagulants in their saliva so their bites often turn blue.!! |

Treatment of head lice |
Treat with pyrethrin RiD benzyl alcohol and mechanical removal of nits. |

Lice |
Parasites that live off blood. Head lice, body lice, pubic lice. Spread through body contact or sharing bed clothes and other garments or hair accessories. They secrete local toxins that lead to itching. |

Body lice treatment |
Wash body clothes bedding thoroughly treat with topical Permethrin or pyrethrin may also be required. |

Scabies |
Caused by Sarcoptes scabiei. anthropod that burrows into the epidermis leading to itchyness that increases once an allergy to the mite or its product develops. It is spread through close contact. |

Signs and symptoms of scabies |
Intense itchiness especially at night and after hot showers. Red pimple like papules. Linear track are the burrows of the night. Commonly infected sites are hands knuckle spaces and genitals. Secondary bacterial infection is common |

Diagnosis of scabies |
History of puritis and several family members being affected.

Treatment of scabies |
Overnight --one to two applications of 5% Permethrin from the neck down. Contacts household members should be treated. Oral Ivermectin can be used. Itchiness can last 2 weeks after treatment so treat symptoms too!! |
