boats are very good at going long distances at low cost. It's much more expensive to drive or fly cargo for 7,000 miles than it is to put it on a boat for that distance.

8. Why do you think ideas and cultures are exchanged along with physical products?

Part of this is due to the migration of peoples. As trade becomes common, immigration also becomes common.




Business people relocate to foreign countries to take advantage of new business ventures. People migrate looking for work. As economies develop, tourism to far-off exotic places becomes more attractive.




Another part of it is due to the exchange of goods. In a way, the culture of a society is represented by what it produces. For instance, the United States exports its blockbuster action movies throughout the world.
