Electronic Pacemakers

are devices that deliver an electrical impulse to the myocardium to cause the cells to depolarize. Provides small amount of electrical current in a predetermined interval to mimic the normal pacemaker of the heart.


What are pacemakers capable of doing within the heart?

Capability to pace the atria, ventricles, or both sets of chambers. Sometimes temporary, but usually implanted under the skin to prevent dysrhythmia.
