Describe the basic air flow path through the GT/HRSG? |
Inlet, Compressor, combustor, Exhaust Transition, HRSG, Stack |
What type of water is used to fill the Evap coolers? |
Process water |
What is the purpose of the GT Evap cooler? |
To cool and clean the air as it enters the GT, increasing GT performance as well as reliability of the compressor and turbine components |
What is the purpose of the conductivity probes on the Evap cooler system? What happens when the readings on these get out of range? |
To measure the cleanliness of the Evap cooler water. The Evap cooler will blow down and refill to correct high conductivity issues by replacing the water with fresh clean water. |
What condition must be present to allow for entry into the 2nd door of the Evap cooler section? |
The turbine must be shutdown but a cse permit is not required. |
At what temperature will the Evap coolers be shut off to prevent icing in the turbine inlet? |
60 F |
What is the purpose of the inlet bleed heat valve? |
The inlet heat system takes air from the discharge of the compressor and introduces it to the inlet of the GT to keep the inlet air above the frost point. |
What is the purpose of the inlet silencer? |
Eleminates compressor tone and reduce noise at other frequencies in the air inlet. |
Explain the inlet differential pressure alarm and trip settings and explain what can be done to get these back in range? |
6" water alarm 8" water trip Shutdown Evap cooler, lower GT load, remove roll media |
What eleminates water carryover into the compressor section of the GT? |
Mist eleminators |
