1. Ask who it is
2. Tell them to hold
3. Push HOLD button
4. See if Sonny is available
5. Push UNHOLD and tell them that you are going to transfer them
6. Put in transfer code: 7358
7. Hang up when Sonny gets the ring
Check voicemails
: 1. Hit voicemail button
2. Enter security code: 4521
3. Press 5 to listen
4. Then press 2 twice to replay if unheard correctly
5. Get phone message book and write down important info (name, message, and number) from the voicemail
6. Press 3 to delete or Press 7 to save
Setup voicemails
1. Press Voicemail button
2. Enter security code: 4521
3. Press 4 and 6 then record after tone
4. Press any key to end recording
5. Press # to save message
Take down messages
Answer: Get phone message book and write down name, number, and important message left in the voicemail.



• Where to find a list of all student services contact information and room numbers
Answer: The sheet on the wall above the phone has room numbers and contact information, there are two SDCCD phone directories near the phone message book, and also on the campus map there are room numbers on the bottom by each student service/building/room.
• What to do in case of an emergency
Answer: Go get pamphlet for specific details depending on type of emergency then follow the Campus Emergency Resources and Evacuation Areas map to evacuate if possible.
Contacting College Police
Answer: 1. Dial 9-911
2. Give name, address/ building and room number/ or any other specific location
3. Give the number you are calling from including the extension number
4. Describe situation or victim’s condition clearly and accurately
5. DO NOT HANG UP. Let the other person you are talking to end the conversation; other information may be needed
• To know where to go and collect information to put on the monthly calendar
Answer: Grab a notebook to write down all the note that will be taken and then go to every department and ask about what events they would like to put onto the monthly calendar
• How to create/format the calendar using the specified template
Answer: 1. Go to the Shared Outreach Folder
2. Click on Outreach 13-14
3. Click on SS Monthly Calendar
4. Follow format presented on file
• How to input each event online on Miramar’s website
Answer: 1. Go to Miramar Website
2. Go to community
3. Click on campus calendar
4. Get Sonny to log in
5. Click Add event
6. Click category- Pick appropriate category that fits the event (usually Student Service or Student Activity)
7. Put in event title
8. Put in description – copy and paste from other calendar
9. Put in the times, dates, and locations
10. Then put URL if applicable
11. Click add
12. Then double check on calendar to see if correct
- If Multiple Day Event
1. Click Recurrence under Date* and go from there
2. Click add
3. Then double check on calendar to see if correct

Logout when finished.

How to be eligible for FYE
Answer: 1. Apply to SDCCD (Miramar College)
2. Must be full time Miramar student, take 12 units each semester
3. Must take Math and English course each semester during 1st year
4. Must take Personal Growth Class
5. Must fill out contract and have assessment scores completed or waived ahead of time
6. Must attend Jets Jump Start Orientation
7. Must attend registration workshop with a counselor following Jets Jump Start, END OF JUNE TO EARLY JULY*
8. Also, Add. Info. : Contracts are given out at the high school designated Miramar Priority Registration Workshops; see your school counselor for details.

How to stimulate interest of participants at the table
1. Lay out giveaways
2. Pull them in by asking them questions about specific topic*
3. Tell them interesting fact about specific topic*
4. Hand them a handout or brochure as they walk by and talk a little bit about specific topic*
• Techniques to assess different personality types and how to interact and respond to people with mixed emotions (for example, an angry, upset, or uninterested person)
Answer: If upset, try and ask what the issue is and if there is any way you can help that person get what they need. If angry, same, ask what the issue is and try and see if there is a solution to that persons problem. If uninterested, try to engage them by having enthusiasm and telling cool and interesting facts, personal stories, etc.
• How to properly address student issues and direct them to specific departments they may be in need of
Answer: Ask the student calmly what their issue is and if it can be directed, if can be directed, direct them towards the specific department for more help. If can’t, try and get phone number of specific department and give it to that student to call the next day.
