A prophet at work primarily in the Northern Kingdom who opposed the rampant idolatry of the kingdom exemplified by the wicked king Ahab and his wife Jezebel who openly opposed him. Confronted prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel. Doesn't die a natural death but Is taken up in a chariot of fire. His return is a preparatory sign of the Messianic age.

The twelfth king of Judah. A good king. He instituted religious reform and improved the overall safety and prosperity of the nation. Hezekiah witnessed the destruction of the northern Kingdom of Israel by Sargon's Assyrians in c. 720 BC and was king of Judah during the invasion and siege of Jerusalem by Sennacherib in 701 BC

A prophet whose activity covered the reigns of the last five kings of Judah. He denounced the policies of his nation and was mocked and reviled for prophesying God's judgment against Judah's political and religious establishment. Witnessed Judah's destruction at the hands of Babylon and chronicled it in Lamentations. Was taken away to Egypt upon Babylon's capture of Jersusalem.

A prophet of a priestly family carried captive to Babylon. He prophesied to the exiles in Mesopotamia by the river Kebar, and is the author of the book bearing his name.

A prophet at the time of Nebuchadnezzar and Cyrus. His wisdom and faith earned him a position of esteem under Nebuchadnezzar and Darius. He had visions and dreams pertaining to historical events, some in the future that related to God's redemptive plan.

Governor of Jerusalem upon Judah's return from exile who encouraged the people to rebuild the city wall which had been destroyed by the Babylonians.
