Nahum message in a nutshell

God is sovereign so no nation has the right to cruelly exploit another.

Zephaniah

The imminent Day of the Lord means judgment and restoration for Israel and the nations

Habakkuk

God demonstrates his justice and in so doing moves Habakkuk from complaint to faithfulness.

Jeremiah

Judah's unfaithfulness has led to divine judgment. Israel must therefore repent of her sin and submit to Babylon. YHWH's prophet must bear this unpopular message against all odds. Yet YHWH's wrath is not his final word. Israel will be restored and her oppressors will be punished.

Ezekiel

Since Jerusalem has ceased to be faithful, YHWH's glory and people have departed her. After an appointed time, however, YHWH will return to Jerusalem his faithful people and glorious presence.

Isaiah 40-55

Since God's power is incomparable, he alone can and will deliver Israel from Babylon.

Obadiah

God brings down Edom for betraying his brother by allying with other nations against him. These nations will in turn betray Edom and God will raise Israel above all.
