Ergonomics

A system to protect workers from the accidental exposure to energy sources (or other dangerous equipment), or from accidental start up of equipment

Whistleblower

This is a protected right by OSHA, and you can remain anonymous


A complaint must be made up to 30 days after incident

Scaffolding

Must be equipped with guardrails, midrails, and toeboards. (4 ft min. height nessesary for guardrails)
Cannot be within 10 ft. from power lines.
Scaffold planks must be cleated or secured, or extend over the end supports by at least 6 in, but no more than 12 in.

Ladder Types (By Load)

1AA-Special Duty: 375 lbs.
1A-Extra Heavy Duty: 300 lbs.
1-Heavy Duty: 250 lbs.
II-Medium Duty: 225 lbs.
III-Light Duty: 200 lbs.

2-3 Foot Rule

Stand about an arm's length away from your coworker, if you have to raise your voice to be heard 2-3 ft away, you should assume that the sound level is at or above 85 dBA [decibels] (this is the OSHA recommended level to keep workplace noises below for an 8-hour time-weighted average)
