Malignant Fibrous Histiocytoma

30-80 yrs of age
Enlarging, generally painless mass. X-ray:usually normal except in advanced cases: erosion, destruction MRI: Histo: spindle and histiocytic cells arranged in storiform (cartwheel or helicopter in a wheat field) pattern. Chronic inflamatory cells may also be present. |

Same presentation as MFH
histo: Fasciculated growth pattern, fusiform or spindle-shaped cells, scant cytoplasm, and indistinct borders, and cells are separted by interwoven collagen fibers. Occsionally a herringbone pattern, intersecting fascicle where the nuclei of one are trasnverse and the adjacent is longitudinal. |
