What are the Two Views?
Creationism and Naturalism

What is the nebular hypothesis?
The idea that a nebulae (large “cloud” of dust and gas) formed into the sun and the planets, including Earth.
Observations the nebular hypothesis idea can’t explain: (3)
Sun rotates too slowly if formed from nebular disk.

Venus has retrograde rotation (rotates backwards).

Uranus tipped on its side.
Define: Steady State Theory
The idea that the universe has always existed similar to its present state
Define: Oscillating universe theory
The idea that a big bang is followed by a big collapse which is followed by a big bang.....
What do all of the ideas like the steady state theory and the Oscillating universe theory attempt to explain?
All of these ideas attempt to explain the origin of the universe without God.

This view says the days of Genesis 1 were not days
but long periods of time.
Define: Theistic Evolution
view that says God used evolution as His means of creating over long expanses of time.
Is compromising the Bible a good idea?
No
What is one problem with these non-literal views that has to do with death?
All of these views make death a part of
the world before man even existed.
What does Romans 5:12 talk about?
death entered the world
as a result of man’s sin.
What is one problem with these non-literal views that has to do with God say somthing about his work?

Death certainly was not a part of God’s very good creation.
