A restatement and reaffirmation of the Law for Israel's second gen

Purpose of Deuteronomy

To reinforce the Mosaic Covenant to new generation. Detailing of Yahweh's faithfulness to his people, emphasis on his expectations for them to remain in covenant with him




To prepare the nation for the conquest of the land by reminding them of God's past faithfulness. He will continue to be with them.

Main Message of Deuteronomy

There is a manner of life for which they have been called (6:4-9, 10:12-13)
