How should maternal exposure of chickenpox being managed? |
If there is doubt is the mother has previously had chickenpox then urgent bloods for varicella antibodies should be done If the pregnant woman is not immune she should be given varicella zoster immunoglobulin (VZIG) as soon as possible Oral aciclovir should be given if pregnant woman with chickenpox present within 24 hours of onset of rash |
