Does Sunnova put a lien on my house? |
Sunnova does not put a lien on your home. We record a “fixture filing” that simply says that we are the owner of the solar system at your home.

Why does Sunnova only offer a one year warranty on installation/ roof?
|
I am very confident that after 12 months that any problem with the install would have made it self apparent wouldn't you agree? Also if there is a longer warranty on your roof we will go that length.

What if I want to buy the system?
I don’t want to lease anymore and I decided I want to own it. |
You are able to prepay the remaining lease payments at any time during the lease and you will receive a 5% discount on any prepayment. With this prepayment you will no longer have the monthly expenditures, but you will still benefit from the production guarantee and maintenance provided by Sunnova. At no time are you able to purchase the system outright. But with that you also never get the headaches of the maintenance either.Before you consider that, we’d like you to consider a couple things first. Do you own your own home, have zero debt, kids out of school, you plan to live in your home for the next 25 years, do you know a trusted solar maintenance expert? If you can answer YES to all of those questions, then ownership may be the best decision foryou.• Also, have you considered the value of Sunnova’s comprehensive coverage that includes power production guarantee, total warranty, system insurance, and full time monitoring at no additional cost?• Sunnova provides comprehensive, worry-free service for the life of your system.• When you purchase, you may have a product warranty on some of the equipment for part of the life of the system but you would still have the expense of having the repairs done. And during that time your system is not producing, you’re missing out on that production.

I want my home value to increase like it would if I purchase. |
Adding a Solar Service Agreement to your home will make it more attractive to potential homebuyers. The agreement is easy to transfer and there are no fees associated. Who wouldn’t want locked in energy rates and worry free maintenance. Work with your real estate agent to educate them on the service agreement.• Rather than purchase a solar system and lose your money, use that money to make a renovation that’s been proven to add value to your home. Such as: Updating your kitchen or bathroom, building a deck, landscaping and painting, adding siding and energy efficient windows and insulation, or reinventing a room to add square footage to your home.• Should you decide to move, you can simply transfer the system to your next home.

Do I still get the tax credit?
|
The ITC and other tax credits are included in the cost of the lease to you.• The ITC and other tax credits are utilized by Sunnova and you benefit from these credits through lower electricity payments. The prices are included in the kWh rate.

I am too old for a 25 year lease.
|
• You are already paying for the power and saving is important regardless of age. We can provide solar as a service to you today and it will start saving you money right away.• There is no difference between being too old and selling your home and transferring service after maybe 5 years.• If something were to happen, then your heirs would have the ability to benefit from the lower cost electricity contract you secured. This would benefit them, or benefit the next owner of your home.

What happens if I die?
|
The lease will transfer to your estate and subsequently to the new owner of your home. Having a solar system on your home automatically increases the value of your home.

I want to choose my own Equipment.
|
We only allow our Partners to select approved equipment that we have researched and approved for our portfolio.• If you’re unhappy with what was proposed, you may speak to your contractor about the other options available to you. However, keep in mind we have a diverse list of approved manufacturers and our Partner will choose the best equipment for your home.

If I win the lottery and don’t want a lease payment, what can I do?
|
If you decide you want to prepay all of your remaining lease payments, you can do that at any time and we will give you a 5% discount on your payments.

What if my neighbor’s tree starts to shade my system during the 25 year agreement?
|
In most cases, your neighborhood will have restrictions on their tree growth.• In a number of places you can ask your neighbor to trimtheir tree.• If the shading changes significantly from the production guarantee, we will adjust the lease agreement (See Section in Lease Warranty, 2(f),(vi)).

What repairs will be done to my roof when I ask you to remove it after 25 years?
|
Sunnova will remove all equipment including posts, waterproof the post area and return the roof as close as is reasonably possible to its original condition before the System was installed. Sunnova will warrant the waterproofing for one (1) year after it removes the System. You agree to reasonably cooperate with Sunnova in removing the System including providing necessary space, access and storage, and we will reasonably cooperate with you to schedule removal in a time and manner that minimizes inconvenience to you.

For the total amount over 25 years, I could buy 2 systems, so the warranty issue is not scary.

What happens if there is a leak in my roof caused by the system?
|
We insure your home against leaks caused by the system, up to $2 million dollars. If you purchase the system, you don’t have any coverage, unless you pay for it separately. WE insure for 1 year or honor any existing roof warranty your home has. Ask your contractor if they offer any additional roof insurance.

What happens in the event of a Force Majeure? What does that mean?
|
During a Force Majeure event, you will continue to make your regularly scheduled lease payments and we will apply those payments to the future production of the system or make up for it at the end of year per the production guarantee
|

What if the new buyer doesn’t want the system?
|
Sunnova has leased thousands of systems to homeowners just like you around the country and we have had MANY homeowners sell their homes. We have never, not been able to transfer the lease to the next homeowner. You are locking in a lower cost of power, which means that the new home buyer is going to have a LOWER electric bill, which is attractive to buyers. You also have the option to move the system to your new home, so long as that is in the same utility area. Additional charges will apply to move the system

What if the new homeowner uses less power than I do and they are stuck making payments for a system that makes more power than they use?
|
Depending on where you live, you may receive a credit and payment from your utility company, depending on the net-metering policy.
