-placental hormone that:
• maintains corpus luteum (this prod hormones until placenta forms and takes over) • basis for pregnancy tests, can also be used to tell if pregnancy is healthy • peaks at 12-13wks and plateaus at 20 wks, should double every 2-3 days if pregnancy is viable. |
