Causes of primary amenorrhea |
1. Constitutional: delayed puberty 2. Hypothalamus: stress, exercise, anorexia, bulimia (weight related), chronic illness, Kallman’s syndrome 3. Pituitary (ant): pituitary adenomas, hyperprolactinemia, hypothyroidism 4. Disorders of the ovaries: Gonadal agenesis/dysgenesis and mosaicism (Turner’s syndrome) 5. Disorders of the outflow tract: Mullerian agenesis/dysgenesis (May-Rokitanky-Kuster-Hauser Syndrome), transverse vaginal Septum, imperforate hymen (haematocolpos) |
