Why do you want to become a nurse?
Actually I would love to be a nurse because it is a caring profession, and I am the type of person who genuinely care about people, and I love to assist people especially in a time of need. I was a CNA and I really enjoyed working with the patients. I felt great knowing that I was able to make someone else feel better.
What qualities do you posses that will make you a good nurse?
I am a very reliable, and caring person. I put all of my effort in to being a hard worker.
What area would you like to work in once you finish school, and why?
I would like to start off working in homecare, because I would love to work with patients where they are comfortable, after that I would say maternity or pediatrics. My first reason is that I love being around babies and kids. My second reason being that I want to be able to help this children towards a healthy future.
In regards to nursing, where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In five years I see myself moving from maternity or pediatrics in to oncology.
In regards to nursing, where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In ten years I will have completed my bachelors in Nursing and I would be an experience nurse working in ICU
How well do you get along with others?
I would say that I get along with others extremely well. I love meeting new people.
What are your weakness and strength
1. Well for my weakness I would have to say that I am little too persistent and somewhat of a perfectionist. For example, when a task gets complicated instead of giving up, I tend to keep going until I can figure it out. At my last employer my manager ask for a report to be submitted to her at noon the next day, I began working on it right away, and didn’t go to lunch because I wanted it to be done right and on time. However I am learning to not overwork myself and balance things out.
2. One of my strength is that I am a fast learner, (I am not afraid to admit when I am wrong because I understand I have to learn from my mistakes)
3. I have a positive attitude, and I can work well with anyone in any environment
Are you comfortable taking a leadership role?
Yes, I am.
How well do you get along with others?
I would say that I get along with others extremely well. I love meeting new people.
Describe yourself
Well I would describe myself as a honest, caring, and friendly person. I make friends easily, and I believe in hard work, I believe that you have to work hard in life. I am always trying to improve and become a better person.

How do you handle stress
I think I handle stress well. typically when I feel stressed I like to get fresh air outside take a little walk to clear my mind, however, if I am at home I start cooking, my husband jokes with me and says that is when I prepare the meals the best..
How would you deal with a situation where a person who didn't know you decided he/she didn't like you?
I would make it a point to try to get to know the person so that they could get to know me and like me for who I am.
Is your family supportive of your schooling?
My husband is very supportive with me attending the nursing program. He support me 100% with my decision .
Why have you chosen this particular nursing school?
When looking for schools Chattahoochee was the most appealing to me. Then when I started looking in to the LPN program I liked all of the information I read on the website it was very detailed and organized, I also heard great things about the school and the program from my sister in law who attended here in 2009.
What kind of experiences have you had with nurses in your past?
I've had a great experience with nurses especially in November 2011 when my father was in a coma in ICU after suffering from a massive stroke. It was on of the most difficult and devastating time of my life, however the nurse that took care of my dad ease some of the pain by being very nice, and caring to my family, although my dad was in a coma she made sure he was taken care of greatly, I even told her on day that my dad love shaving a certain way an when I came the next day she had made sure it was done...I was very happy and because of her she brought joy and happiness during a hard time...and I am thankful of her for that.
Tell us about yourself
I am a friendly, nice person I always respect everyone, and I believe in working hard I'm married and right now I'm a stay at home mom....I have a very flexible schedule my boys normally attend school and my husband works from home,my mom is currently staying with us. I am inspired to be a nurse and believe that this is the best time for me to accomplish this goal.
What is the most challenging this in your life so far?
My most challenging thing I have come across in my life was watching my dad suffer and pass away in such a short period of time.
Rate youself on a scale of 1-10.
I would give myself an 8. I feel like I am the best person that I could be but there is always room for learning and improvement.
How have you benefited from disappointment?
I have benefited from disappointment by actually becoming a stronger person.
What is the biggest mistake that you have ever made?
I think the biggest mistake that I have made was waiting long before trying to apply for nursing school.
What do you want to do in life?
I want to be able to give back in a positive way. I love to help, uplift, and encourage people, and I believe through nursing, and being a nurse I can accomplish it.
Who has exercised the greatest influence on you? How?
My dad has made the greatest influence on me. He brought me and my siblings five of us and my mom here to the United States from east Africa, at the time he did not speak English well nor did he attend school here but he was able to find a great job, buy us a house and provided a great life for us, and I am grateful of him for that, he always told me I did it so can you.
What qualities do you most admire in people?
I admire a great sense of humor but at the same time knows when to be serious. I admire people who won't take no for an answer when it is easier to just give up.
What is the most difficult situation you have ever faced?
Losing my dad and trying to stay strong for my mom and brother was the most difficult thing I have faced yet.
How are your grades?
My grades are good! I am constantly improving them also.
How do you accept dress codes?
I have no problem with dress codes at all! I went to private school for 10 years and was required to wear a uniform.
Describe the perfect nurse.
The perfect nurse would have to have a great deal of knowledge! and love their job The nurse would need to have compassion. The perfect nurse knows how to treat each patient like they are important. The nurse must also have respect for everyone around them including themselves. The perfect nurse must never give up or accept failure.
What do you think about policies and rules?
I think that we must have these to keep everything in order. I think policies and rules are put in place to better our environment.
