What is a receptor? |
A molecule found on the suface of a cell, that recives chemical signals which produces a response from the cell (angonist/ antiangonist). |

What is an agonist? |
A chemical/ drug that binds to receptors and triggers/ increases a response from the cell. |

Howt does a synthetic angonist work? |
It binds to the receptor on the cell and mimics the action of a naturally occurring neurotransmitter - increasing its action.

What is an antagonist? |
A chemical/ drug that binds to a receptor and blocks a response from the cell. |

How does an antagonist work? |
It binds to a receptor and block a response from the cell, either though completely blocking the receptor from the agonist (Inhibiting) or reducing the amount of receptors from or the amount of interaction with the agonist (Competive) |

What are neurotransmitters? |
Chemical messengers released form the Nervous System and transmit signals across a chemical synapse, from one neuron (nerve cell) to another within the ANS. Neurotransmitters are released from synaptic vesicles in synapses into the synaptic cleft, where they are received by receptors on the target cells. |

What are the two branches of the Autonomic Nervous System? |
The Sympathetic and the Para-sympathetic. |
