ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἀπὸ τοῦ ἱεροῦ ἐπορεύετο. (Matt. 24:1)
Jesus (himself) had gone from the temple. (13.1)
καὶ οἱ λόγοι αἱ διδαχαὶ τῶν προφητῶν ἠκούοντο ὑπὸ τῶν ἁμαρτωλῶν.
Both the words and the teachings of the prophets were being heard by the sinners. (13.2)
ἐν ἐκείναις ταῖς ἡμέραις οὐδὲ ἐδιδασκόμεθα ὑπ᾿ αὐτοῦ οὐδὲ ἐδιδάσκομεν τοὺς ἄλλους.
In those days we were niether being taught by him nor were we teaching the others. (13.3)
ἐβαπτίζοντο ὑπ᾿ αὐτοῦ. (Mark 1:5)
They were (being) baptized by him.(13.4)
ἀγαθὰ δῶρα ἐφέρετο πρὸς τοὺς ἀγαθοὺς ἀδελφούς.
Good gifts were being brought to the good brothers.
(13.5)
ἔβλεπον τὸν κύριον ἐν τῇ δόξῃ αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἐδιδάσκοντο ὑπ᾿ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ταῖς κακαῖς.
They were seeing the Lord in His glory, but they were being taught by Him even in the bad days. (13.6)
ὁ ὄχλος ἤρχετο πρὸς αὐτόν, καὶ ἐδίδασκεν αυτούς. (Mark 2:13)
The crowd was coming near him, and he was teaching them.(13.7)
οἱ μαθηταὶ κατήρχοντο πρὸς τὴν θάλασσαν καὶ εἰσηρχόμεθα εἰς τὸ πλοῖον σὺν τῷ κυρίῳ.
The disciples were going down to the sea and we were going into the boat with the Lord. (13.8)
διὰ τοῦτο οὐκ ἠδύναντο πιστεύειν. (John 12:39)
Because of this (thing) they were not able to believe. (13.9)
ἐξέβαλλεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς τὰ δαιμόνια ἐκ τῶν ἀνθρώπων καὶ ἐκαθάριζεν αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν αὐτῶν.
Jesus was casting the demons out of the men and He was cleansing them from their sins. (13.10)
καὶ ὁ Ἰησοῦς μετὰ τῶν μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ ἀνεχώρησεν πρὸς τὴν θάλασσαν. (Mark 3:7)
And Jesus withdrew with His disciples to the sea. (13.11)
διὰ τὸν λόγον τοῦ κυρίου τὰ δαιμόνια ἐξήρχετο ἐκ τῶν ἀνθρώπων.
Because the word of the Lord the demons went out of the man. (13.12)
οὐδὲ ἐδεχόμεθα τὴν ἀλήθειαν ἀπὸ ὑμῶν οὐδὲ ἐλέγετε αὐτὴν πρὸς ἄλλους.
We were neither receiving the truth from them nor were you speaking it to others. (13.13)
καὶ εὐθὺς το πνεῦμα αὐτὸν ἐκβάλλει εἰς τὴν ἔρημον (Mark 1:12).
And immediately the spirit drives him out into the desert. (13.14)
τὰ βιβλία γινώσκουσιν τῶν ἀνθρώπων, ἀλλὰ τὰς γραφὰς γινὼσκουσιν καὶ τοῦ θεοῦ.
They know the books of the men, but they also know the scriptures of God. (13.15)
ἐὰν τε γὰρ ζῶμεν, τῷ κυρίῳ ζῶμεν, ἐὰν τε ἀποθνῄσκωμεν, τῷ κυρίῳ ἀποθνῄσκωμεν. ἐὰν τε οὖν ζῶμεν ἐὰν τε ἀποθνῄσκωμεν, τοῦ κυρίου ἐσμέν (Rom. 14:8).
For if we live, we live for the Lord, (and)if we die, we die for the Lord, therefore whether we live (or)whether we die, we are (of the Lord) the Lord. (13.16)
καὶ βάπτισμα τὸ Ἰορδάνῃ ποταμῷ ὑπ᾿ αὐτοῦ (Matt. 3:6).
And they were baptized by him in the river Jordan. (13.17)
τὸ βάπτισμα τὸ Ἰωάννου πόθεν ἦν; ἐξ οὐρανοῦ ἤ ἐξ ἀνθρώπων; (Matt. 21:25)
The baptism of John, wherefrom was it; from heaven or from men? (13.18)
οὔπω γὰρ ἐδύνασθε δέχεσθαι τὴν διδαχήν μου, ἀλλ᾿ οὐδὲ ἔτι νῦν δύνασθε (1 Cor. 3:2)
For you were not yet able to receive my teaching, (and) yet still you are not even able now. (13.19)
καὶ εὐθὺς ἦν ἐν τῇ συναγωγῇ αὐτῶν ἄνθρωπος ἐν πνεύματιι ὰκαθάρτῳ (Mark 1:23)
And immediately in their synagogue was a man in unclean spirit. (13.20)
