what is the difference between sensitization and dishabituation?
sensitization is increased responding of a NON HABITUATED response with repeated presentation of a noxious stimulus. dishabituation is RESTORATION OF A PREVIOUSLY HABITUATED response following a change in stimulus pattern (ex. another, stronger stimulus)
Evidence that sensitization and dishabituation are different (4):
1. behavioural dissociation
2. ontogeny of each behaviour
3. neural circuits involved
4. cellular differences
