Tumor is the latin word for swelling. 200 years ago the distinction was not yet undertood between inflammation and cancer.

A neoplasia or neoplasm is a mass of unhealthy tissue which does not grow in correspondance with its neighboring tissue and continues to grow even when the exhibitive factor which began its presence is no longer present.
What is cancer?
Cancer is a general name for dangerous malignant growths.
How many kinds of growths are there?
There are between 6 and 700 types of growths in the body.
What is the difference between benign and malignant growth in the uterus?
The leiomyoma is a benign growth. Smooth muscle cells multiply, there are no grurot, the multiplied cells are also diffentiated, no risk. It grows slowly and is small and stays put.
Leiomyosarcoma is malignant. Smooth muscle cells grow without lower differentiation and shape, sends grurot, grows quickly, large, multiplied cells have changed size and function. it has a necrotic center.
What does the ending OMA signify?
oma is meant to signify benign. osteoma, chondroma, fibroma. endoma is benign, epitheal glands which become cancerous on the colon.
papilloma like a cauliflower finger.
polyp appears on a mucous tissue like the colon or nose.
What is the white in the polyp photo?
The white is a necrosis after the polyp was removed. it will be removed by the body and the tissue will return to normal.
What is a papillary adenoma of the colon?
A benign growth in the colon. In an epitheal process finger like cauliflower like shapes, there is growth.
