What are the indications of administering narcan? |
-Opiod overdose causing resp/ cardiovascular or CNS depression - Unconscious pt with resp depression where opioid overdose is a possibility - Reversal of resp or CNS depression in neonate following maternal opioid use during labour |

What are the side effects to administering narcan? |
-can induce cardiac dysrrthmias in pt’s who are dependent on opiates. In this case it’s best to titrate the dose |

What route is narcan administered through? |
-IV (preferred) -IM (800micrograms can be given to minimise the risk of dearest if pt declines hospital) |
