- chased it from a thicket into snow, lassoed it brought it to Mycenae

- clear out the dung of Augeais' (son of Helios) cattle from the stables in one day if he gave him one tenth of the cattle


- diverted rivers Apleios and Peneios


- Augeis denied payment, his son Phyleus stood for heracles and he exiled him

- countless birds took refuge in the thick woods


- apollodorus said they were harmless, ovid's version they shoot feathers like arrows

- went to Crete to get the bull, king Minos let him take it, carried it back, showed it to Erystheus, he let it go free and wondered to Sparta and Arcadia where it plagued the locals

- Diomedes was the son of Ares, king of Bistones, owned man eating mares


- heracles sailed with followers including his boyfriend Abderos son of Hermeswho the mares dragged to death


- Heracles killed Diomedes and fought the Bistones, founded Abdera, fed the remains to the mares who he gave to Erystheus
