Nursing interventions

SE - Blood dyscrasias (such as bone marrow suppression), flushed skin and rash, uric acid kidney stones (also HA, n/v, diarhhea, metallic taste and sore gums)
Nursing interventions - Fluid intake 2000-3000/day to prevent kidney stones. Teach avoid high purine floods - wine, alcohol, organ meat, salmon, scallops and gravy

Medicate for phantom pain
First 24 hours - elevte the foot of bed to reduce edema; then keep the bed flat to prevent hip flexion contractures.
For above the knee - prevent internal or external rotation of the limb. For external - place a sandbag, rolled towel... along outside of thigh to prevent ex. rotation.
