Biceps Brachii

Origin: Long head-supraglenoid tubercles of the scapula


Short Head:coracoid process of the scapula


Insertion:Radial Tuberosity


Action:Flexes at elbow joint,flexes at glenohumeral joint .supinates radial ulnar joint


STRETCH: door frame stretch...arm extended at shoulder lever thumb up..rotate shoulder in other direction.


Innervation:Musculocutaneous

Brachialis

Origin:Distal 1/2 of the anterior shaft of humerus


Insertion: Tuberosity and coracoid process of the ulna


Action: Flexes the arm at the elbow joint


Stretch:Extend arms back and clasp hands,palms down and raise arms till you feel the stretch


Innervation: Musculocutaneous

Brachioradialis:

Origin:Lateral supracondylar ridge of the humerus


Insertion:Styloid process of the Radius


Action:flexes the forearm elbow joint..Supinates and Pronates the forearm at the radioulnar joint.


Stretch:arm so your thumb faces up..allow you wrist to hinge till you feel stretch


Innervation: Radial Nerve

Triceps Brachii

Origin:long head infraglenoid tubercle of the scapula


Lateral head :posterior surface of the proximal half of the humerus


Medial Head:Posterior surface of the distal half of the humerus


Insertion:Olecranon process of the ulna


Action: all head-extend the elbow


Lateral head extend the shoulder

Anconeus

Origin:Lateral epicondyle of the humerus


Insertion:olecranon process and posterior,proximal surface of the ulna


action: extend the elbow


Pronator Teres

Origin:common flexor tendon from the medial epicondyle of humerus and coronoid process of the ulna


Insertion:lateral surface of the radius


Action:pronate the forearm

Pronator quadratus

Origin:medial anterior surface of the distal ulna


Insertion:lateral anterior surface of the distal radius


Action:pronate the arm

supinator

origin:lateral epicondyle of the humerus,radial collateral ligament,annular ligament and supinator crest of the ulna


insertion:anterior lateral surface of the proximal 1/3 of the radial shaft


Action:supinate the forearm
