Origin- SPs of all vertebrae, supraspinous ligament, TP T3-C3

Insertion- Ribs and vertebrae, mastoid process of temporal bone

Action- Extends spine, raises cranial portion of body from pelvis, stabalizes spine, extends neck, lateral flexion and rotation of neck, raises caudal body with hindlimb.
