pennate muscle shape |
lookes like feather (uni-Bi and Multipennate).-Contain more Moyofirils than parallel muscles-Develop more tension than parallel muscles
Synegists muscle:
is a muscle to prevent unwanted mvnt at other joints or to aid the mvnt of Agonist muscle.
Fixators
Fixator muscle, stabilize the origin of the Agonist , so the agonist act more efficiently.
Ligament that connecs the Axis to Occiput:
1- Tectorial membrane (is situated within the vertebral canal)2- 2 Alars.3- Apical Odontoid (or Dens)4-Cruciated ligaments (looks like + shape) it connects the axis to the atlas ans the atlas to the occiput.
TMJ (TempoMandibular Joint)
-It is a modified hinge ( or Hinge and planer joint).-has Articular Disc (a fibrous extension of the capsule) It devides TMJ into 2 compartments:1-Inf Compart: where mandible articulates with articular disc (hinge mvnt for Depression and elevation).2-superior Compartment: Articular disc articulate with Temporal bone to produce a Transitional mvnt or gliding mvnt. (protrusion and retrusion)
Muscle of Mastination: TMJ- Elevation
1-Temporalis..2-Masseter.3-Medial pterygoid
Muscle of Mastication: TMJ-Depression
1-Lateral Pterygoid (bilaterally)2-Suprahyoids (Disgastric,ant.belly)3-Mylohyoid & Geniohyoid.
TMJ- protrusion:
1-Masseter (the suerficial fibers)2-Lateral Pterygoid (Bilaterally)3-Medial Pterygoid.
TMJ-Retrusion:
1-Temporalis (post-fibers)2-masseter (deep fibers)
TMJ- Lateral Excursion:
1-Temporalis (same side of movnt)2-Pterygoid (unilaterally)3-Masseter
Temporalis Insertion point
is the coronoid process of the mandible
Masseter muscle (for TMJ)
origin is Zygomatic Arch.Insersion is body and ramus of mandible.
Innervation of (masseter, Temporalis, Pterygoids, MyloHyoid, Digastric Anterior Belly)
Trigeminal Nerve or CN-V3
Innervation of Genihyoid
1st cervical Spinal Nerve
Innervation of Digastric Posterior Belly:
Facial Nerve CN VII
Pterygoids -Lateral and Medial
Lateral -2 heads upper and lower: Origin is at Lateral late of Ethmoid bone, Insertion is at Articular Capsule..Medial -2 heads superficial and deep: origin Pterygoid plate, insertion is at the inferior surface od the mandibular ramus.
