What would be a prima facie evidence of an execution of an assignment of a patent or an application for patent?
A certificate of acknowledgment that includes:
* Signature of Assignor +
* Official seal of notary
What should happen for an assignment not to be void against:
* subsequent purchaser
* for valuable consideration,
* without notice
The assignment should be recorded within three months from
* its date or
* prior to the date of such subsequent purchase
In the absence of any agreement to the contrary, each of joint owners of a patent may -
Make, use, import, offer to sell or sell the patented invention
* without the consent of the other owners, and
* without accounting to the other owners.
An assignment can be made of record in two ways for two different purposes:
1. Assignment that is made of record in the assignment record to provide public notice ot the assignment. this assignment is merely ministerial, and is not an Office determination of the validity of the assignment.

2. An assignment that is made of record in the file of a patent application to allow the assignee to "take action" in the application.
