Noun + Verb Phrase - A clause

The main verb is the simple verb, the rest of verb phrase are called auxiliaries.
Transitive Verbs
Take an object- show ( you can show something) If you put the word apple after it and it makes sense it is transitive;
show the apple, follow the apple
Intransitive Verbs
Can not take an object- example wander; you cannot trip the apple or wander the apple
Main Verb
The main verb is the activity of the sentence;
Sara runs on the track.
Bob eats pizza every day.
Main verbs can stand alone.
Auxiliary Verb
The auxiliary verb supports the work of the main verb.
Sara can run on the track.
Bob is eating pizza every day.

Is, Am, Are, Be, Being, Been, Was, Were
