Take an object- show ( you can show something) If you put the word apple after it and it makes sense it is transitive;

Can not take an object- example wander; you cannot trip the apple or wander the apple

|
The main verb is the activity of the sentence;
Sara runs on the track. Bob eats pizza every day. Main verbs can stand alone. |

|
The auxiliary verb supports the work of the main verb.
Sara can run on the track. Bob is eating pizza every day. |
