New Moon

The Moon's first phase. It is all dark

Waxing Crescent

The Moon's second phase. It is a sliver of light on the right side.

1st Quater

The Moon's third phase and first main phase. The right side is lit and the left side is dark.

Waxing Gibbous

The Moon's fourth phase. The right side is about 70% lit.

Full Moon
