What are Van Lines?
most often used for loose or pad-wrapped shipments and large, uncrated displays but also will ship crated materials in either less-than-truckload or truck-load quantities.

Typically have larger trailers than common carriers and hydraulic lift gates for loading.

They deliver direct to convention sites or the advance warehouse and specialize in making deliveries on targeted dates.
What are common carriers?

motor freight or common carriers use trucks to transport materials that are in crates on skids or pallets or in either less than truckload (LTL) or truckload quantities.

None of them guarantee delivery on an exact date unless you agree to pay for a full truckload, even if you don't fill a truck.
What is a Bill of Lading?

The simplest option to "ship" goods. You are the carrier and have control.

Recommended for small items or easy distance. Or confidential items.
What are USPS recommendations?

1. Use corrugated cartons
2. Pack cartons full, or use newspaper or other filler material to keep contents from shifting during transit
3. Seal cartons with the 2" tape made specifically for this purpose, other kinds of tape tear easily
4. Use duplicate labels inside the box, can use this in case of damage to the outside.
5. Do not wrap the carton in brown paper unless must. Paper rips easily and may destroy label.
6. Make legible labels. Avoid PO Box numbers.
