Define Vitamins

What are the two groups of vitamins? Give examples
Fat Soluble: A,D,E & K
Water Soluble: C, B1, B2, B3, B6, B12 AND Folic Acid
Why can some vitamins be taken on a daily basis and others not so often?
Water soluble vitamins are flushed out in urine and therefore must be replaced daily.
Fat soluble vitamins are usually absorbed and stored in the bodies fat, live and kidney's. They do not need to be consumed daily.
Give examples of major and trace elements.
Major elements: calcium, potassium, magnesium, sodium, phosphorous, chlorine and sulphur.
Trace elements: iron, fluoride, iodine, copper, chromium selenium and zinc
