try to understand how people are different. Individual activities, interest, thoughts on the world. Ex: Not all 23 yr olds like to party they have the same demographic but different psychographics.

focus on aggressive techniques for overcoming customer resistance. This was popular during the great depression when door to door sales were very popular.

What is market in the marketing philosophies?

Focus on satisfying customer needs and wants. This is combination of customer and relationship orientation. Market research became a priority to uncover unmet needs.

What is Societal in the marketing philosophies?

Focus on satisfying customer needs and wants while enhancing individual and societal well being. Customers will seek out companies that conduct business in an ethical fashion and benefit society.
