Asexual Reproduction |
A type of reproduction that doesn't include fertilization, there is no exchange of genetic material |
Mitosis |
The process in which a cell divides and creates two identical cells. |
DNA |
Stands for deoxyribonucleic acid. It is nucleic acid that contains genetic information. |
Chromosomes |
A structure in the cell that genetic material |
Binary Fission |
A type of asexual reproduction that occurs in prokaryotes. It is when the cell divides and has the ability to grow into the size of the original cell. Ex: Since humans and Eukaryotic organisms we don't got through Binary Fission. |
Budding |
The formation of the outgrowth of an organism, it creates a new individual or gemmation. Ex: Budding is a type of asexual reproduction |
Vegetative Reproduction |
A type of asexual reproduction employed by plants where new organisms are created from the vegetative parts of plants, like specialized stems, leaves, roots, but not from seeds or spores. |
Meiosis |
A sexual reproduction in organisms, two nucleui don't have chromosomal division. They contain parts of both parents genes. Ex: Without meiosis we wouldn't be able to reproduce and grow in population |
Reproductive or Sex Cells |
A cell that transports DNA to the offspring. Ex: In order to reproduce you must have reproductive or sex cells to reproduce |
Spores |
A dormant reproductive cell, it is thick-walled and highly resistant to certain tempretures. Ex: some Bacteria, fungi, algae and plants |
Sexual Reproductions |
A type of reproductions that requires a female ovum and a male spermatozoon to cravats a zygote which has genes and DNA from not organisms. Ex: some plants, all animals, and humans |
Zygote |
A cell in the state after being fertalized by a sperm and over Rx: this is the stage before it duplicates and become an embryo. |
