What is the order of mitosis

Interphase, Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, Telophase

Describe Interphase

Before Mitosis actually begins, the DNA is being replicated and the cell is making proteins. The chromosomes are invisible

Describe Prophase

Chromosomes become visible because the nuclear envelope disintegrates, centrioles move to each end of the cell

Describe Metaphase

Spindle fibres form, chromosomes line up on the centre of the cell

Describe Anaphase

Spindle fibres attach to the chromatids begin to contract, so the chromatids are pulled to the polrs

Describe telophase

Chromosomes are on different sides of the cell and the nuclear envelope veins to reform around them

Describe cytokinesis

Cytoplasm divides and the cell splits into two

What is the difference between malignant and benign tumours

Malignant tumours grow rapidly and are less compact making them more life threatening.

Benign tumours grow slower, are more compact and this makes them less life threatening
