Coarse Adjustment Knob |
Allows the body tube and stage to be able to move up and down. |

Stage Clip |

Allows the body tube, objective lenses, and the stag of the microscope to tilt. |

Supports the microscope and is also used for carrying the microscope. |

Eyepiece |
The part of the microscope you look through to view an object placed on the stage. The eyepiece contains the ocular lens and usually has a magnification power of 10X. |

Body Tube |
Maintains the proper distance between the eyepiece and the objective lenses. It is the part that allows light to pass upward to the eyepiece. |

Revolving Nosepiece |
Holds the high and low powered objective lenses. |

Objective Lens |
AKA the low-and high- power lenses, adds to the magnification of the object you are viewing. |

Stage |
Supports the slide being viewed. In the middle of the stage is an opening that allows light from below to pass through the object being viewed. |

Diaphragm |
Located under the stage and has several openings of various sizes. Use to vary the amount of light passing through the slide. Usually is is better is the amount of light is low. |

Light Source/ Mirror |
Directs light toward the object being viewed. |
