Staphylococcus aures

Many healthy people naturally have this on their skin, so it is typically found on foods that involves just handling with one's hands and then not cooking. Potato salad, e clairs, hams, etc. This bacteria can be killed by reheating, but the toxin (an enterotoxin) it produces when it is left out for a long time at room temperature (temperature abuse) is heat stable and still infects people. Within 1-6 hours, a person eating said food will get very sick

Listeriosis

Unlike many others, this lovely can grow in cold temperatures such as the fridge. IE: ice cream. Phagocytes ingest it but its difficult for them to destroy it. So it's just kind of hanging out in phagocytes, I guess, so it's really bad. It's especially bad for vulnerable people, pregnant women in particular. It can infect the placent and cause still birth. Another symptom is meningitis.

Clostridium Perfringens

A gram-positive spore-former. It takes 6-24 hours to manifest. When it does, the symtoms are similar to the common 24 hours flu. It is associated with cafeteria food that has been sitting out a long time. Yet again, temperature abuse contributes greatly

B Cerus

Another gram positive spore-former. Found in starchy foods, cereals, puddings, rice, etc, when left out a little too long. When you get it, either it's vomitting or diarrhea.

Botulism

Yet another gram positive spore-former. It can come from (low-acid) canned vegetables (like green beans and stuff) or for infants, in honey, which is why it should be no honey for babies. Illness caused by toxins.

Samonellosis

A gram-negative pathogen. One strain is typhoid fever. 12-36 hour incubtion period. Occasionally, this can be fatal when the toxins excape fro the muscosal cells and goes into the bloodstream and lymph system.

Vibrio parahaemolyticus

Gram negative. According to a website, it "lives in brackish saltwater and causes gastrointestinal illness in humans". If it lives in saltwater, it makes sense that they are halophiles and accosiated with raw seafood. The illness is actually caused by an infection.

Yersiniosis

Another G-neg. Can survive in cold temperatures. Commor carriers are pigs. Animal feces contains it, surprise surprise, cause it's nasty.

E coli

Another fine, pink G-neg brother. It's Enterohemorragic. Also, all the damaged red blood cells can block the kidney and result in hemolytic uremic sydrome, which results in kidney failure. The reservior is cattle. Young children are especially at risk.

Campylobacter jejuni

Another G-neg. Perhaps, the most common foodborne illness. It primarily comes from poultry products. It results in GI infection.

Helicobacter pylori.

Another G-neg. Can cause stomach cancer. Causes Peptic ulcer disease. Can be treated with antibiotics.
