	Penicillins	Mechanism:Bind PBPs; inhibit formation of bridges in peptidoglycan. Antimicrobial Action: Bactericidal. Spectrum: Gram positive. Inhibition:Beta-lactamases; Efflux of drug; Porin size (Gm -). Notes: PenG=IV, IM PenV=PO 1st gen.; effective vs. growing bacteria.
	Methicillin	Mechanism: Bind PBP's, Antimicrobial Action: Bacteriocidal Inhibition: Same as Penicillin.Spectrum:Gram Positive Notes: Beta Lactamases, Resistant to inactivation by penicillinase of CA-MRSA.
	Ampicillin Amoxicillin	Mechanism: Bind PBP's, Microbial Action: Bacteriocidal Spectrum: Gm+; growing E. coli, Proteus. Inhibition: Same as Penicillin.Notes: PO 2nd Generation.
	Carbenicillin Ticarcillin	Mechanism: Bind PBP's, Microbial Action: Bacteriocidal Spectrum: Gm+ & Gm-, incl. Pseudomonas. Inhibition: Resistant to B-lactamases. Notes:Narrow spectrum given to those allergic to penicillin.
